As Always ... Refreshment and Weight Management Tips:

  • Bring a tennis ball to roll under your feet a couple times a day at work.

  • 10 minutes break per hour  from a computer, TV, or screen time will improve your accuracy when you resume the activity.  The rewards of setting a timer often outweigh the interruption. And you might find this a new stress, appetite, and mood buster!
  • Keeping yourself hydrated and flexible are two great ways to stay alert and limber throughout the day.  Shoot for nine eight ounce cups daily if you are around 150 pounds. (Coffee, sports drinks can be a part of this fluid)  If one doubles weight to 300#, the individual would need 17 cups of water or over a gallon.  This is not impossible and can be refreshing when really cold.  Keep a gallon in the refrigerator that's ready when you come in from a really hot drive or sweltering walk in the heat.

  • If you do enjoy snacking, choose smaller meals and "save" a portion of the meal for the time of day when you're most tired or have a usual break.  Drink a glass of water or milk with the meal you've chosen to shrink while transitioning to your new snack schedule

  • Keep food off of the counters.  And consider putting calorie dense foods into a paper bag if other family members need the nutrition and you're trying to limit or remove them from your lifestyle.
